The story behind the practice.
I grew up obese. I know what it feels like to be disconnected from your own body — to move through the world in a way that feels heavy, painful, and outside your control. I also know what it feels like to change that. Through movement, nutrition, hard training, and deliberate recovery, I rebuilt my body and — more importantly — my relationship with it.
That transformation didn't happen because I found the perfect program or the right supplement. It happened because I understood what I was trying to do and why. Knowledge changed everything — and it gave me the conviction that has driven my practice ever since: health is not something that just happens to you. It is built, deliberately, inside a lifestyle system that either supports you or slowly works against you.
That conviction led me to physical therapy school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. It led me to a doctorate. And it led me to build something I couldn't find anywhere else: a clinical practice that treats the whole system, not just the symptom — grounded in the best available research, and built to serve people for the long term.
"To my father — whose battle taught me that health is not something we wait to lose before we fight for it. To every patient who trusted me in the middle of their pain. And to every person who refuses to accept that slowing down is inevitable."
— Dr. O · Dedication, The Functional Longevity Model
How I practice.
Movement Clinic is a cash-pay physical therapy practice — which means no insurance middleman, no productivity quotas, no 20-minute visits. Every appointment is one-on-one with me, for as long as it takes to do the work right. The Functional Longevity Evaluation is 75 minutes because your body and your life deserve that kind of attention.
I am certified in Functional Dry Needling — a technique that directly addresses muscle dysfunction, myofascial pain, and neuromuscular inhibition. It is powerful and precise, and I use it as part of a broader clinical plan, not as a standalone fix.
I am also bilingual — English and Spanish — and I believe that language access in healthcare is not a convenience but a right. Si usted prefiere hablar español, estoy aquí para servirle.
Beyond in-person care, I offer Functional Longevity Consulting — a fully remote program that works through all four pillars of the framework with you: movement, nutrition, recovery, and community. No location required. This is where the framework meets your life, wherever you are.
What I actually believe.
The American healthcare system is extraordinarily good at treating acute crises. It is structurally unprepared — and economically disincentivized — to build long-term health. Managing chronic illness indefinitely is the most profitable segment of healthcare. Reversing it is not reimbursable.
That is not a cynical observation. It is an honest one. And it is the reason I built a practice outside that system — one that uses the system for what it does well, while building what it cannot and will not provide on its own.
You are not fragile. Your body is more adaptable, more responsive, and more capable of change than the standard healthcare narrative suggests. What it needs is not more rest, more passive treatment, or more resignation. It needs the right stimulus, applied with intelligence and consistency, inside a lifestyle environment designed to support adaptation.
That is what this practice is built to deliver.
In addition to clinical and consulting care, this practice extends free physical therapy to individuals who face meaningful barriers to access — quietly, because it is the right thing to do. Not as a program. As a commitment.
